If you are shipping multiple items, we will ask you how many postage labels you would like. This is so you can break it down into multiple, more manageable boxes instead of trying to fit it all into one box.

We always encourage our customers to use as few boxes as possible. Not only is this better for the environment, but it means we can process your order and pay you quicker.

If you change your mind and decide you don’t need all the requested postage labels anymore and can ship them in fewer boxes, please let our postage team know so we can ensure the courier will still accept the package.

Your box should weigh no more than 15kg and be no more than 120cm in length. If you add the two shortest dimensions and multiply them by two, the total calculation should be under 225cm.

If your box is bigger or heavier than that, no problem, just let us know and we will prepare a special label for you.

Whatever you decide to use to package your tools – make sure it’s strong and durable. Corrugated cardboard is a great choice as it’s cushioned and heavy-duty. Don’t worry about over-using sellotape; our team are used to dealing with well-packaged items.

If your item tools are in a case, you can ship the product directly in its case to avoid having to pack it into a box. Just secure the case closed with zip ties or similar, and if possible, pack out the inside of the case so the tools don’t move around inside the case during transit. Tools cases are designed for transportation, so they’re usually very sturdy and offer great protection.

Bubble wrap is the ideal material to secure your items in the box and prevent damage. Try to pack heavier items first, and don’t use a box that’s too large—your items will move around and could damage one another. If you don’t have bubble wrap, you can consider using old/unwanted clothing, towels, bedding, etc. We aim to recycle all packaging materials received.

Fun idea – two birds, one stone: Do you also have some old clothes you were planning to take to the charity shop? You can use these to pack your tools, once received we will donate the clothes to a local charity shop on your behalf.

It might sound obvious but make sure you’re sending all the tools that we quoted you for.

Remove any labels, hazardous materials indicators, and other previous shipment labels. Ensure your label is attached securely and the barcode is not obscured by tape. This will allow your box to be easily tracked – meaning you get paid quicker!

Prices offered for tools remain in place for 7 days, so to make sure you get the cash you’re expecting, please post your items within this time frame.

Packaging Don'ts

Don’t use flimsy or damaged boxes as they may receive further damage whilst in transit. Ensure the box is in good shape and not worn out.

Labelling your boxes as ‘fragile’ or ‘handle with care’ isn’t a substitute for careful packing.

Choose the appropriate size of box for your items, try not to under-fill boxes (these could collapse) and over-filled ones might explode.

Don’t re-use old packaging without removing all previous labels and stickers.
